Get Fit for Kids
Bay Harbor’s Get Fit for The Giving Tree
A Fun Day of activity to benefit The Giving Tree Food Pantry
On January 26th and 27th Bay Harbor is holding our annual Get Fit event! The goal of Get Fit is to have fun, increase personal fitness and encourage community service. On the day of our event, each class will be invited to the gym to participate in an hour of fun physical activities. Your generosity will provide assistance to families with children who attend the Howard-Suamico School District.
Poverty is in every community, including Howard and Suamico. As of November 2021, 55 students in the Howard-Suamico School District have been identified as homeless. Additionally, 20% of Howard-Suamico Students qualify for free or reduced school meals. During the month of December The Giving Tree served 224 families and 507 children. Poverty impacts a student’s learning, work habits and decision-making.
The Giving Tree is an organization that focuses on equitable access to food, shelter, transportation, and resources for students and families in the Howard-Suamico School District. Their vision is to provide education without barriers.
